Departure

With my laptop still with Lenovo service depot, I rode with JR. We left around 11 and headed towards southwest Oklahoma. Altus was our original target and we’d make a fuel stop there before continuing towards Quanah.

The main storm was severe warned and apparently had a nice little funnel just before we got to it. As we entered Quanah, the core seemed to fall out of the storm and we got hammered with a lot of smaller hail.

After clearing the rain, we hung south to look at the storm structure. Most of it had collapsed, but there were more storms.

Shelf Cloud near Eldorado

We went back and forth a few times across the state line before settling on storms coming into Oklahoma near Eldorado. The storms were accompanied by a nice shelf cloud.

We gave up near Elmer and headed back to OKC Metro.
